BONE MARROW CONCENTRATION: WHAT IS BEING CONCENTRATED?
Are you being told you don’t need to concentrate Bone Marrow Aspirate? If so, please read the below and do your best to find in vivo peer reviewed data to substantiate the use of Bone Marrow Aspirate without concentration. What is clear from the below characterization of EmCyte’s PureBMC is that centrifugation is necessary to concentrate TNCs, Platelets, CD34+, MSCs while reducing hematrocrit, RBC count, Plasma

Dr Jason Dragoo’s team from Stanford University also provided some more insights on the cellular composition of EmCyte Bone Marrow Concentrate vs that of Harvest’s Bone Marrow Concentrate. Samples were analyzed with multicolor flow cytometry for cellular viability and expression of stem/progenitor cells markers. Free Hemoglobin and Hemolysis.
Stem/progenitor cell content was verified by quantification of colony forming unit-fibroblasts (CFU-F). Platelet, red blood cell and total nucleated cell (TNC) content were determined using an automated hematology analyzer. Interested to learn more?
